1. Does the screen you're viewing contain one of the log-in boxes shown below?
a. Have you already created a RefWorks account or are you trying to use your UNMC NetID to log-in? You must "Sign up for an individual account" (using the link under "New to RefWorks") before you can use RefWorks. You will select your own RefWorks username and password when you register.
b. Does the login box contain the words "University of Nebraska Medical Center?" If not, click on the "Login using your group code" OR "group login" link. Enter UNMC's group code in the login box that appears.
c. Does the "You have made an invalid entry" message appear even though you're sure you're entering the correct login and password? Review question b above. If this doesn't resolve the problem try clicking the "forgot your password" link. You will be asked to enter the e-mail associated with your account. A list of all usernames and passwords associated with that e-mail will be sent to you. If you still have problems after checking this list of usernames and passwords, call the reference desk 402-559-6221 or 1-866-800-5209 and ask to speak to the Refworks administrator about a login problem (currently Cindy Schmidt). The RefWorks administrator can reset your password for you.
d. Are you encountering a situation in which there is NO error or invalid entry message but no progress in navigating to your account? This problem is seen with certain web browsers (mostly specific versions of IE). You can either switch to a different browser or close all the current browser windows that are open, reopen the browser and try logging in again.
2. Are you looking at the following login screen?
If logging in with your UNMC NetID/UNMC e-mail username and password doesn't work, you can still use RefWorks, go to http://www.refworks.com, click the "Login" 'button.' Enter UNMC's group code in the login box that appears.
